Tracy Sweeney

by Anthology

‘What Sweeney has vividly evoked is its maker’s desire to create a mark in public, to make something imperfect and thus unique. In many of these works, Sweeney’s aesthetic is a raw one of the scrap yard, and at moments – the gutter.’ − Jean Tormey, Curator, Tate Modern, London.

Tracy Sweeney is a young artist from the west of Ireland. Her dynamic paintings have won major awards including the prestigious Pollock Krasner Award in New York. Her numerous international exhibitions have been met with much acclaim, particularly the Paris Biennale 109 and group exhibition Grafik Triennalen with Grafiska Sallskapet Galleri, opened by King Carl Gustaf of Sweden in Stockholm 2010.  Tracy’s bespoke works of original fine art are held in various international collections.
